This modern facility is established in 2022, is one of the largest planetariums in Africa. It features a 24-metre dome and seating for 200 visitors. The theatre offers a fully immersive 360-degree viewing experience, allowing audiences to explore the depths of space and gain a greater understanding of our universe.
The Dome Theatre is primarily used for educational and scientific presentations. It plays an important role in encouraging young people and families to develop an interest in science and technology.

Where: EntotoΒ ObservatoryΒ and Research Center (EORC)
EntotoΒ ObservatoryΒ and Research Center (EORC) -Β the first space observatory inΒ East Africa. According to EORC, it is engaged in promoting and making use of earth observation, satellite technology, astronomy, and space science and engineering. The agency has officially begun its operation in 2023. 3500 meters above sea level, Ethiopia'sΒ EntotoΒ ObservatoryΒ is located amidst rolling fields and grazing cows.
Location: Mount Entoto, near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (altitude 3,200 meters)
Capacity:Β 25-30 people. While primarily an observational research center, the site offers educational outreach and public programs related to astronomy and space science. Programs and visits are typically organized, with a focus on academic and public engagement events.
Home to Ethiopiaβs pioneering astronomical observatory with twin 1-meter telescopes, operational since 2023, offering views of the Milky Way and beyond.
